admira: How did you get started in music?
Yerai: From an early age I flirted with music as a game, until three friends and I got together and sang in the streets of Tarifa. One day, my uncle – the father of one of the friends – encouraged us to enter a contest in Cazatalentos, a contest where the prize was to sign with a record label. We won… and that’s how it all started.
admira: What do you look for when choosing a guitar?
Yerai: For me, the first thing is the sound: that it has depth, that it projects well and that it responds with character. Then, comfort; a guitar should feel like an extension of yourself, and in my case even more so, as it’s the one that comes with me when I’m looking for the muses when it comes to composing.
admira: What would you like to highlight about the admira Carmen, Flamenco Series?
Yerai: It is a guitar that combines tradition and modernity to perfection. It has a lot of ‘duende’, perfect for flamenco. Moreover, the construction is impeccable, with details that show the care and respect for craftsmanship.
admira: Looking to the future… What would your ideal guitar that doesn’t yet exist be like?
Yerai: For example, a system that allows you to adjust the height of the strings without having to modify the bridge, or a specially treated wood to age its sound faster, giving it that vintage touch from the first chord.
admira: Tell us, what plans do you have on the horizon?
Yerai: In the short term, I want to finish my tour and close the new album, Lunare, on a high note. But beyond that, music has always taken me down unexpected paths, and I like to think that the best is yet to come.
