Under the name Vraell, Italian-British guitarist and producer Alessio Scozzaro has built a deeply intimate sonic universe where the guitar plays an essential role. Born in 1995 and based in London, his music fuses classical delicacy, electronic landscapes, and indie sensitivity, captivating listeners with its emotional honesty and instrumental richness.

His career began to take shape in 2019, when he started releasing his first compositions independently. With pieces like “Between”—which was even featured in BBC Earth productions—Vraell quickly drew attention for his ability to transform silence and arpeggios into immersive sonic narratives. His first EP, “Fall,” and the following “Smoke” and “Walls,” solidified a style reminiscent of artists like Bon Iver, Ólafur Arnalds, or Sufjan Stevens, but with a unique identity.

In 2024, releases like “fil”—a delicate collaboration with French singer Jasmïn—or “quattro,” a melodic reflection on his Sicilian roots, marked a step forward in his creative maturity. That same year, his music crossed borders and platforms: it featured in international brand campaigns, was heard at festivals like SXSW in Austin, and reached a wide and loyal global audience.

The pinnacle came in 2025 with the release of his long-awaited debut album, “Once a Blue Hour.” A work that flows between acoustic and electronic, where every chord speaks softly, and every texture carries an emotion that needs no words.

“The guitar has infinite possibilities. I love discovering them,” says Vraell. And it’s this constant search that makes him an Admira artist: for the way he authentically explores the soul of the instrument, his attention to detail, and for turning the guitar into a bridge between the intimate and the universal.

Sounds with soul

admira: ¿Do you remember the moment you first connected with music?

Vraell : When my dad used to play Otis Redding as he was cooking. Became such a ritual and a gentle subconscious shift to appreciating music

admira: ¿What led you to choose the guitar as your means of expression?

Vraell : My older brother came home with a classical guitar book and I used to sit outside his room listening to such beautiful pieces for hours. I was so inspired to play like that.

admira: Your style blends folk, ambient, and classical elements. How has your sound evolved from your early steps to now?

Vraell : My classical training has allowed me to get here. But I also love producing and most of the music I listen to is electronically led. Philosophically I love combining the two. Plus I love blending this with folk sentiment and lyrics.

admira: ¿What do you look for in a Spanish guitar when composing or recording?  Are there any particular details—tone, feel, responsiveness—that are essential to you?

Vraell : I love a full bodied guitar with a resonant tone so when I dampen the strings it doesn’t lose its sonority. I like high tension strings and a low action because I play very high a lot of the time. So I need a guitar where I can move quickly and freely with hammer-ons.

admira: ¿ Many of your songs seem to be built from intimacy. Does the instrument influence how a piece is born?

Vraell : I always start with guitar, and then build around that. The part shapes the arrangement, production and lyrically speaking.

admira: Looking ahead… What would your ideal guitar, one that doesn’t exist yet, look like?

Vraell : I want to build a Baritone 7 string classical so I can have 2 strings for sustained bass. It’s my dream passion project. With drop tunings it would be amazing

admira: ¿ What projects are on the horizon? Any new album, collaborations, or tours you can share with us?

Vraell : A new album, some movies and that’s it for now. I’ve got an arena tour with a French artist Thylacine in the New Year which I’m buzzed for
