A pop/folk singer-songwriter characterised by a ‘gritty quality to her voice’. With a voice rich in nuance and songs that seem to have been born from the sea, the earth and the most intimate of emotions, Sara Sístole has become one of the most sensitive and personal emerging voices in the new Spanish singer-songwriter scene. Hailing from Galicia, her music traverses flamenco, bossa nova, folk and acoustic songs, creating a unique sonic universe marked by honesty and delicacy. From a very young age, she began writing songs and developing a deeply emotional connection with music. Trained musically through a combination of conservatory study and self-taught guitar, Sara found in songwriting a way to transform memories, landscapes and feelings into songs capable of connecting directly with the audience. With works such as Alma, Tres Lunas and Peces Rojos, the Galician artist has steadily established a recognisable artistic identity, where the sensitivity of her lyrics and the warmth of the acoustic guitars take centre stage. Her music, difficult to pigeonhole, blends roots, emotion and modernity with a naturalness that has led her to perform at iconic venues and festivals across various Spanish cities. Sara Sístole represents a new generation of artists who approach music through truth, intimacy and emotion.

An artist who turns every song into a sanctuary and every live performance into an intimate experience, where the guitar becomes a natural extension of her voice.

Sounds with soul

admira: Your songs have a very intimate connection with the guitar. What role does the guitar play in your creative and emotional process?

Sara: A central role. I couldn’t imagine songwriting without the sound of the guitar these days. My songs always come to life when I start trying out chords, and then the vocal melody and lyrics emerge. But the first thing is to connect with my guitar. It’s almost an emotional connection with the instrument.

admira: What qualities do you look for in a guitar when you go out to play live?

Sara: The warmth and that organic, lively quality; playing open chords is something magical. Finding a specific landscape in an arpeggio… For me, it really is such an expressive instrument that blends perfectly with the voice.

admira: What would you highlight about the admira Lucía-ECF when it comes to accompanying a voice as personal and intimate as yours?

Sara: Its sound is so warm yet bright, which makes singing with it a real joy. Plus, its size is perfect, not to mention how beautiful it is… I’m absolutely delighted with it, to be honest.

admira: Looking ahead… What would your ideal guitar be like, one that doesn’t exist yet?

Sara: Joan Báez’s guitar… ha ha ha, just kidding! Well, a guitar with a full body but at the same time small and manageable for someone like me, and mahogany-coloured.

admira: What projects do you have lined up for the coming months?

Sara: Playing at the Galileo Galilei venue on 23 May… I dream about that date every night. Then continuing the tour and also the summer tour, which will be special, taking place in various seaside locations in my native Galicia. On another note, I’m already starting to write for a new project that has me very excited. And enjoying my Lucía and every adventure that music has in store for me.
