Luitingo
José Luis Romero Magro, better known artistically as ‘LUITINGO’.
He is a young Andalusian artist born in the province of Seville (specifically in the district of Triana, in El Tardón), on 19 September 1990 surrounded by humour, singing and artistry (artistic vein that comes from his father ‘Sele’, a well-known Andalusian comedian and former member of Los Morancos). Unconditional fan of artists such as: Luis Miguel, Chiquetete, Salmarina…
With 17 years old he makes his first performance singing and playing the guitar, in one of the most important venues of Triana in 2008. Luitingo is self-taught, both in terms of singing and instruments (guitar, piano…).
He produces and writes most of his songs, for example:
‘DONDE SE PONGA UNA GITANA’, being a trend in Youtube, with more than 5 million views, and reaching more than 150k in just 24 hours. He has more than 150 thousand followers in each Social Network (Each of them verified), Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook Fanpage… going viral with millions of views in these Networks.
In 2015 he was selected for the TV Show: ‘INSUPERABLES’ and in 2019 he participates in ‘GOT TALENT’. In the same year, he becomes the original voice of the OST of OPERACIÓN CAMARÓN (Original Movie of Mediaset and released in Cinemas in 2021), with ‘CHICO PERFECTO’ (more than 10 million views, between Youtube and Spotify), and ‘CACHITOS DE AMOR’ (more than 2 million views between Youtube and Spotify). The song ‘CHICO PERFECTO’ wins in 2022, the Carmen Awards de Cine Andaluz. Chosen as the Best Original Andalusian Song.
In 2023, he participates in ‘GH VIP’ (Finishing second out of 17 contestants). He becomes a media personality, and he is very active in online and digital press. After having toured with his guitar almost all of Andalusia (Most Festivals and Town Halls), part of Spain, Portugal… he makes his debut in February 2024 in the North. With full house in the most famous venue (MOMA) in the centre of Bilbao.
On the 9th of May he releases the single ‘Secreto A Voces’, reaching number 17 on Youtube Trends and he ends up singing from April to September almost all over Andalusia, with his band and his versatile and lively show (from the most saucy rumba to the most romantic ballad).
With a new air, renewed, and leaving behind influences flamenco, Luitingo dares with a pop British single, with lyrics full of good vibes. On the 23rd of November, a new project was released: ‘YO SÉ QUE PUEDES’ (Produced by the well known: Juanma Leal, and composition by: Raúl Cabrera and Luitingo).
admira: When and how did you take your first steps in the world of music?
Luitingo: I took my first steps in music in an old club in Triana called ‘MAHARÍ’. I was 17 years old and I was just starting to play. I remember perfectly that I got fed up singing and playing rumbas and sevillanas hehehehe…
admira: What do you like a guitar to have?
Luitingo: Strings… hahahahahaha. I like it to have a flamenco sound, and a lot of resonance. I love guitars that have a punch.
admira: What characteristics do you look for?
Luitingo: That it’s comfortable, that it’s not too soft when I play because I have a strong touch.
admira: Would you highlight anything in particular about the Alegria-EF that you have?
Luitingo: I love the colour, and the fact that it has black tuning pegs. I like the way it sounds when it’s not plugged in. And when it’s plugged in it’s crazy… I highlight everything hahahaha…
admira: Let’s imagine, what would ‘your perfect guitar’ be like, which doesn’t exist yet?
Luitingo: Ole! What a good question… well, I would love a white guitar with big black polka dots hahahaha the tuning pegs in transparent pink. And that it would play along by itself… hahahahaha. No jokes, I’d like it to have a system like Siri on the iPhone, so I could talk to it and it would tune itself automatically.
admira: What plans do you have on the table for 2025? Tell us! What are you up to?
Luitingo: Well, I’m involved in several projects. I’m going to collaborate with artists from different genres, and we’re going to release bachata, salsa, afro-flamenco… my own compositions and others. And regarding performances, we’re touring in Spain, Andalusia… and we’re going to present a show in a very important circuit in Andalusia. This 2025 I intend to continue as I have done all my life: Fight without rest, feet on the ground, and sing for joy.
