Micah P. Hinson
admira Virtuoso-ECF, Serie Conservatorio
admira: When did you get started in music?
Micah: My grandmothers, on my father’s and mother’s side, both had acute talents in playing piano- one was a learned player and one was a genius. From as early as I can remember, I was intrigued by the sound, and movements, of music. This, of course, being a child of the 90’s, led me to the guitar and writing songs. I began to try to write songs as early as 12 years old. It has taken me a lifetime to try to make relationships with the ghosts of music and songwriting.
admira: What led you to play your musical style?
Micah: I believe it was in my blood. Growing up, country music and folk music was something to avoid. But I was born in Tennessee and raised in Texas, so playing this type of music was unavoidable. I had to. I don’t believe I had a choice.
admira: What would you highlight about the admira A40-EF Serie Artesanía you have?
Micah: The sheer size of its sound. It speaks very well, to the point that it speaks for me. It can sound a thousand different ways, with a thousand different voices. It can delicate and it can be harsh. It helps to convey clearly the language I want to speak to the world.
admira: Looking to the future… What would your ideal guitar that doesn’t exist yet be like?
Micah: I would love to have a nylon stringed guitar that has double low E strings, double B strings, and double high E strings. That would be a dream. I play finger picking style mainly, and rarely use picks, so the idea of those 3 strings being doubled would help me create an even larger, wider sound. It would be even more like having an orchestra at my fingertips.
admira: Tell us, what are you up to?
Micah: I am currently recording my 12th full length album in northern Italy- with my producer, Alessandro ‘Asso’ Stefana, for my label, ‘Ponderosa Music Records’, who work out of Milan, Italy. I am in the process of publishing my 2nd novel with ‘Rasma Ediciones’. I am also working on a few songs for a movie score that is being written and filmed here in Spain.
